The Garage Gym Testimonial Formula

The premier, cream of the crop, no cost advertising strategy is…testimonials. You realize they are important right?  Well, now you need to learn how to post them. When your client gives a testimonial they want to pour out their heart and soul to show you how much they appreciate you guiding them through their fitness/weight loss journey.  Losing weight can be very emotional for some people, we have all seen the river of tears on the Biggest Loser.  A long detailed description is better in some cases, but not this one. You need to extract the juice by using this formula-

Specific end results or benefit the customer receives + specific period of time + accompanied feeling + persons name with a personal touch.
Example “I lost over 40 pounds and can run an eight minute mile since joining turbo training 6 months ago. (specific results and time period) I have not felt this good since I was in my twenties (accompanied feeling).  Tom Shafer- Physical Education Teacher ( persons name with personal touch).  At the end have a “click here to read more.” Set a hyperlink to the rest of the testimonial so people can read the full story if they choose.

1) You can start by collecting them from anyone and everyone!  The easiest way to do that is through your email.  Ask someone in person, then tell them you will send them over an email to remind them. When they send it over store it in your testimonial cheat sheet, which I will give you at the end of this article.  Pictures are important so remember to get one of those too.

2) Put testimonials in their own section and scatter them throughout your site.  They should be on the homepage and about us section.  People should not be able to log on to your site without seeing one.  Marketing tip- send them out in your email auto responder.

3) Make an “Athlete of the Month” or  “Yogi of the Month” Highlight a person who has made some great gains since joining.  Tell them they have been selected and send over a few questions asking about their experience at the gym.  It will produce at lease one testimonial a month.  Does not look like marketing, but it is.
